I was always impressed by how they had once built huge civilizations without the aid of magic or advanced technology.

Tanaris seems to be okay as of Cataclysm. Steamwheedle Port's gone, but Gadgetzan is thriving. The Southsea Freebooters and Sandfury trolls are still there, but the pirates seem to be on the retreat (Lost Rigger Cove is an active battle between the Horde/Alliance and the freebooters).

In the Ahn'qiraj section I hinted that a few nerubians had managed to escape deep into the underground. It's canon that at least a few survived; perhaps they'll appear in another expansion.

And yes, I took a deliberately grim portrayal of piracy. Don't get me wrong, the romantic portrayal of Hollywood is lots of fun, but I did want to show the other side. In reality, pirates were historically some of the cruelest criminals around.Destronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08880259350300667791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8564585184157117409.post-25315057571115431572012-04-09T12:01:27.288-07:002012-04-09T12:01:27.288-07:00I must say I have always had a fascination with tr...I must say I have always had a fascination with trolls and their history and they are one of my favorite races in warcraft.

Your entry on Tanaris was very well written and I enjoyed it a great deal, it's a shame that the whole area seems to be nearing an eminent doom, now with Zul'farrak and the Steemwheedle Port it seems that what would cause most concern are those loathsome silthids which I hope are one day pushed back or eradicated.

Despite not liking insects I do find the narubians far more interesting and civilized than their destructive cousins, it is a shame they had to die while the quiraji survived.

Thank you for a great read!

P.S. Pirates are a nasty bunch but you made them look even nastier with your descriptions, I could feel the same uneasiness as Destron did while he was there, great props for that!Taschennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8564585184157117409.post-78677795902543979652008-08-25T18:13:00.000-07:002008-08-25T18:13:00.000-07:00Hmm, thats a shame. For the people who bothered to up their reputation with them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8564585184157117409.post-65504808133425177842008-08-25T17:14:00.000-07:002008-08-25T17:14:00.000-07:00I don't plan to do anything with the Caverns of Ti...I don't plan to do anything with the Caverns of Time. With the exception of Mt. Hyjal, the histories of the regions explored in the CoT have already been covered in the entries for those zones. It would also be difficult to justify Destron's presence in the CoT. Hope this doesn't disappoint anyone too much.Destronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08880259350300667791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8564585184157117409.post-68654869572224587882008-08-25T16:41:00.000-07:002008-08-25T16:41:00.000-07:00I was re-reading this article, and i noticed that ...I was re-reading this article, and i noticed that you have not written anything about the Caverns of Time.
